A juvenile Channel-billed Cuckoo has been photographed on King Island, Tasmania, over the weekend. A vagrant, but last recording of this species in Tasmania was in 1905 and isn’t clear whether it was a live bird sighting or a specimen possibly from somewhere else. Although it would be useful to have them here to help control the large Raven population on the island, we don’t want them. Too rambunctious!
