yes, you are perfectly correct.
that record does still, of course, stand - that's why I mentioned the Cairns
region, because I knew of this BTG having been seen in TSV at that time.
maybe I shouldn't have used the word 'region', and perhaps the word 'district'
instead would have been better?
I certainly didn't mean to include TSV when I mentioned the Cairns region...
just as an aside, does anyone on here know if Far Nth Qld (FNQ) covers the area
from TSV, and everything to the north?
I think that this is correct, but I am very happy to be corrected because I
would like to know for sure.
I have always thought that North Qld (NQ) is the zone southward of TSV to
include Bowen, Whitsundays, Mackay etc...

Hello all,
Not that I saw it my self but I'm pretty sure that there was a record of
Black tailed Gull in Townsville in 2002. So there is at least one other
record of BTG in North Queensland. I remember the bird clearly as I had
just moved away from Townsville when it was recorded.
