Peter,
A few years ago I accompanied a friend to check out bins at Bintel. From the
range available it came down to Monarchs vs Swarovski.
In bright sunlight I really couldn’t tell the difference. Although I seem to
remember the Monarchs had a little distortion around periphery, but I could
only notice it if I looked for it against straight lines.
Where Swarovski stood out was in low light. The difference was like having
lights on with Swarovski, or off with Monarchs.

Richard, I’m interested to hear your opinion of the image quality of the
Monarchs vs the Swarovskis. I assume the latter are better, but by how much?
