While travelling in WA I was asked by a couple of birders about their sighting of a Malurus leucopterus edouardi or M.i.leucopterus around Caernarvon. Both were adamant they had seen the satin black race on the mainland. No this is way above the pay grade of a seabirder so can anyone tell me whether either or both of the island black races also turn up on the mainland around the area? I did get some beautiful views of an Indic Yellow Nose and a Wandering-type Diomedea off Kalbarri and wonder whether this was common as well. The Diomedea seemed a long way north for mine.
