There's no need to worry about the habitat groupings, there are only 3
groups: marine, freshwater and terrestrial habitats. Bird species and
families are organised taxonomically within each of these three habitat
groups. To assist the birdwatcher find bird species in the main part of the
guide, there is a visual quick reference to bird groups on the inside of the
front cover (double page spread), and an alphabetical reference to bird
groups a few pages in. Then there are the usual comprehensive species
indexes at the back of the book.

Grouped by habitat as in the Gould League bird guides!
My copy is on its way and I'm really looking forward to getting my hands on
it (my grandsons have my Gould League guides). Our new property is in
grassy woodland 800 metres from the coast so a couple of sections are going
to be well-thumbed.
Cheers

to use as a beginner in an urban environment where lot of birds were out of
their normal habitat and I had little idea what any of them were. It
probably doesn't matter anywhere near as much to experienced birders.
