Actually yesterday's post from Kirri Hardy was about a Spangled Drongo
mimicking a Pied Butcherbird, not the other way around.......
Yes Grey Shrike-thrush is a good mimic, as are Drongos.
By the way, there is a k in mimicking but no k in mimicry.

Subject: Grey Shrike-thrush mimickry
Thinking about yesterday's post from Kirri Hardy on a Pied Butcherbird
mimicking a Spangled Drongo...
I have a bush block adjacent to a birders' haunt well known to
Victorians-Rise and Shine Bush Reserve. My neighbour's block is a Noisy
Miner hangout (with the consequent reduction in bird species diversity) and
every time I hear a Noisy Miner call at my place I have a fleeting panic
that I am about to be invaded and colonised by these gangsters. But, more
often than not when I hear a Noisy Miner call and track it down I find a
Grey Shrike-thrush has mimicked the call. Phew!
