Good evening all It is with a very sad heart that I announce the passing of legendary birder Bob Hughes from Lismore in Victoria. Bob is extremely well known to many birders around Australia and was highly regarded as both a birder and more importantly, a person. Bob passed away today after suffering poor health in recent months. He was aged 80. Bob will always be remembered for his passion for birds and the environment, his unique sense of humour, and was always happy to show people around the Lismore district. Bob was surrounded by his wife Jan and 3 children –Russell, Bronwyn and Sharon and his grandchildren- in his last few hours. We salute you Bob and will have a whiskey in your honour!
