Denise,
I have had a little Pentax Optio WG-1 for a few years now, and it has
served me very well. Nice and compact, water, dust and shock proof and
produces a pretty good image. It is a great little travel camera. I have
dropped it, once into a creek and had it kicking around in my shoulder bag
and it still works well. It is the first camera I have owned, which I am
confident about cleaning crap off by sticking it in a bucket of water. The
latest model now carries a Ricoh badge, since Ricoh's take over of Pentax.
Worth considering. Here is a link to the Australian distributors site

Cheers,
Carl
