Hi Martin,
One of the closest places to Sydney for Striped Honeyeater is the Capertee
Valley. They’re reasonably common there in many of the well-treed roadside
areas. Pick up a "Capertee Valley Map and Guide to Birdwatching” leaflet from
Lithgow tourist info or Capertee store and try sites 4, 6 and 11 which are all
good for Striped. You can also download the leaflet from here:
http://caperteevalleyalliance.blogspot.com.au/ and click the stylised Regent
Honeyeater.
