The Paradise Shelduck was showing well again this morning - in the water lying
in the paddock to the south of the pump shed, and gate 4. We arrived just
after 8:00am, met up with a number of others, including Keith Brandwood. We
strolled across the causeway, checking the lagoon to the right, but it wasn’t
there. Rounded the shed about 8:15, and got onto it straight away. Watched it
feeding all around the shallows till about 9:00am, when a very brazen fox
roamed around and checked everybody out, but seems to be looking for smaller
prey. Didn’t cause the wildfowl (including the duck), too much concern.
Having had our fill, we left the lagoon around 9:30, checked out the Great
Crested Grebe family and a few bush birds on the way out, and then made our way
home again.

Very pleased, after missing the bird at Lake Wollumboula.
