On the ABC news today, stated as "Eastern Spinebill Bird." I have not seen it, probably is a caricature. Philip -----Original Message----- From: Birding-Aus On Behalf Of Neil Cheshire Sent: Tuesday, 12 April, 2016 4:56 PM To: Subject: 'Native' birds on the new $5 banknote Interesting design for the new Australian $5 banknote - two 'native' birds are featured both of which appear to be new to science as they do not resemble any known native species! How could a design get to this stage with such obvious mistakes? The banknote can be seen at 'The Guardian' on line.
