G’day Tom et al WTNT’s do moult en-route to, & in the first 2-3 months of their stay in Aus. By contrast our swiftlets moult while breeding, Charlie Collins and I are gathering info to write a paper on moult in the Apodidae as there are variations beyond the above, and there are still books being produced that say all birds separate moult and breeding. Some of the photos sent to me recently have been good enough to see which primaries, secondaries & tail feathers are in the moult process. Happy swift watching.
