We have bought, but not yet used, the "Fieldbook of the Birds of Ecuador including the Galapagos Islands" by Niles McMullan and Lelis Navarrete published 2013 by Jocotoco. The Foreword by Dr Robert S Ridgely gives it an endorsement. We purchased it at the UK Birdfair last August, priced US$29.95. It is a small lightweight book so very convenient for travelling and taking out in the field in a jacket pocket. The quality illustrations together with identification markers, distribution maps, status and brief descriptions of habitat make it a potentially very useable guide. It is what we intend to use for our forthcoming trip there.
