When my partner hears the call, he often says its the Three Stooges bird. Whoop, whoop, whoop....... Happy Birding Burney Subject: How to describe the Pheasant Coucal's call? Message-ID: <CAPxD7_+3BY5MpwnQLFdff-a6D=> Content-Type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8 Knowing that there are some with poetic inclinations within the Birding-Aus subscriber base, I wonder if anyone has a suggestion for the following: An author friend has asked for some advice as to how to describe the "glugging water sound" of the Pheasant Coucal in a less prosaic way (and without resorting to a plethora of words).
