The IOC has just accepted the split of Subantarctic Shearwater from Little Shearwater. It will be included in the next update (IOC5.4). I have Googled it. It appears to be the New Zealand birds, but it also mentions that it breeds in the southern Atlantic and Indian Oceans. So is this the Australian species. i.e those breeding off the coast of Western Australia (Abrolhos Islands, islands off Albany & Esperance, etc)? Or would it just be a visitor to Australia?
