Hi,

I was down at the Goolwa Barrages last Saturday morning and observed Silver
gulls hitching a ride on the back of Peilcans as they swam looking for fish.
Has anyone else seen this behaviour?
The Silver gull would 'ride' for about 5-10 seconds until the Pelican lunged
it's bill into the water.
It would then dismount to the water to catch any fish that may have been
startled by the Pelican.
I saw two Silver gulls do this.

Yeeha!

Peter.
