Work has begun to drain the 200-hectare Yandina Creek Wetlands on the
Sunshine Coast. As has been reported, the wetlands are home to an
extraordinary variety of birds including several threatened species.
The drainage works are proceeding in defiance of federal and state
investigations into potential breaches of environmental laws.
