Tom and those who knew Bob,

Although Bob did have cancer, the operation was a success. Unfortunately Bob contracted one of those hospital superbugs, and spent the next eleven months in hospital in high care trying to survive. I visited him weekly, and it was dreadful to watch. In the end, when medical knowledge could offer him no further hope, he opted to live no longer, requesting the withdrawal of all lifesaving measures. To the end his intellect remained as before. He was a great friend of mine.

Bob's funeral is this Friday, Feb 27 at Traditional Funerals Chapel at 17 Anzac Ave, Redcliffe at 11am. Bob's brothers will welcome any of Bob's friends who wish to attend.

Cheers,

Jill

Sad to hear of the passing of another birder/photographer to illness, Bob
was a great nature-photographer and keen ornithologist, but fought in vain
with peritoneal cancer.

He will be missed by all that knew him,

Tom
