G'day everyone,

I just thought I'd get in another plug for this talk. Tickets are selling
steadily, but the flip-side of getting a swish venue is a much higher cost
- I'm still some way from breaking even so it'd be good to get a packed
house if possible.

John's talk will detail his many years in the desert searching for the
species, culminating in his eventual success. The Melbourne audience will
get to see photographs of the bird that haven't appeared in any
publications and a short piece of video footage that John shot. The talk
also introduces many interesting finds and experiences that John had in the
years leading up to the rediscovery. I'm sure everyone who has seen this
talk interstate will attest to the feeling of witnessing something truly
historic. It's a must-see for any Australian birdo and John is an engaging
speaker.

The talk will be at the Deakin Edge at Federation Square on Sunday 1st
March. This is close to public transport and has paid parking next door.
Tickets can be purchased online and will be available for collection at the
door from 6pm on the evening. There are a few nice bars and cafes close by
so you'll have time to wet your whistle before the doors open at 6:45 for a
7pm start. John has promised me that he'll be able to get his talk wrapped
up by 9pm so they don't have to send in the security to kick us out of the
auditorium. This will take into account some time for questions at the end
of John's presentation.

I hope to see you there.

Cheers,

Chris Watson
