In territories of the Great Horned Owl (Nth America) it is a bad idea to
wear a hat made of fur, particularly the kind with the whole animal plus
tail, a la Davey Crockett...
The Great Horned Owl has been known to kill people in these hats. Human
temples are no defence against those claws.
Same probably goes for the Eagle Owl in Eurasia.
