I was going to head down to the bird hide at Bibra Lake again on Tuesday
morning.

I’m wondering (hoping) that it’s 7am departure means it was going to Bibra Lake
to it’s “usual” spot.

I’m happy to sms/call anyone who’s going to be about looking tomorrow morning
if I spot it there.

Cheers,

Ross

Hi all,

The snipe was seen by Mark Binns this morning at North Lake around 7am on the
west side of the wetland on the edge of the small pond separate from the main
lake - however, it had flown off before the observer left. Since North Lake is
just over the road from Bibra Lake, it is presumably the same bird

Cheers,
John

Hi all,

Heather Thorning photographed a Gallinago sp. Snipe at Bibra Lake this morning,
just north of the new bird hide in the NE of the lake (seen from the hide I
believe). Several people failed to see it during the day, but Plaxy Barratt,
Dan Mantle and Paul Newman have reported it showing again this arvo around
6.15pm, though I get the impression views were relatively distant.

Obviously this group is a challenge to ID in the field, but any Gallinago is
unusual in the south-west

Cheers,
John
