Published sightings for the week ending 4 Jan 2015.

Sun 4 Jan Swift parrot Pontville
At least three feeding in a flowering non-native eucalypt in the garden
just across the old Midland highway from the pub at Pontville; several
others heard in the vicinity. Owner of garden says that they're a
regular in her planted flowering gums at this time of year.
   Simon Grove
Thu 1 Jan Sanderling Denison Beach behind Nature World, East Coast Tas.
41 birds feeding with 1 Hooded Plover
   Frank & Lennice Wilson
Wed 31 Dec Ruddy Turnstone Moreland Point, near Devonport
Approximately 80 birds foraging in the seaweed a little to the east of
the "usual" high tide roost, in very wild and windy conditions. Nice to
see good numbers of this species here still, at least, even if overall
species diversity was well down tonight.
   John and Shirley Tongue
Mon 29 Dec Red Knot Orielton Lagoon
Two Red Knot now at north eastern bay or Greenshank Corner in Midway
Pt. The two Knot were feeding and sheltering together from the wind at
high tide with about 70 Eastern Curlew and 6 Greenshank.
   Els Wakefield
Sun 28 Dec Freckled Duck Goulds Lagoon Wildlife Sanctuary
At least ten Freckled Duck sighted at 7:30am today on the lagoon. All
resting around the southern end of the western part of the lagoon.
   Els Wakefield
Thu 25 Dec Forty-spotted Pardalote Marion Bay
Party of somewhere between 12 and 15 working through white gums behind
the beach just north of the Marion Bay village. In 15 years of weekly
walks through this area this is the first time I have encountered them
here, despite Maria Island being in view across the water. [An
interesting report of this rare species outside their normal range -
perhaps a temporary dispersal from the Maria Island population? JT,
   Moderator]
   Andrew North
Sun 7 Dec Grey-tailed tattler Clarke Island - rocks between Kangaroo
   Bay and Seal Point
One grey-tailed tattler, plus several ruddy turnstones, red-capped
plovers and red-necked stints, along sheltered rocky shoreline between
   Kangaroo Bay and Seal Point
   Simon Grove and Jesse Earnshaw
