Birdline Tasmania Published sightings for the week ending 14 Sep 2014. Mon 8 Sep Masked Owl Sisters Beach Rd Probable male seen briefly in car headlamps at 1945 in mature eucalypt woodland. Too pale and small for female. Species seen in area previously as roadkill. Could also be Barn Owl but these are very rare in Tasmania. Richard Ashby Sat 6 Sep Shining Bronze Cuckoo Bicentennial Park (Mount Nelson) Calling from the gully above Churchill Avenue during a morning field-trip of the Tasmanian Field Naturalists Club.
