To continue with the current pink theme, Pete Carr has just sent me an image of a pink Cattle Egret that he photographed on Diego Garcia (British Indian Ocean Territory) on 7 Aug 2014. He would be interested to know if anyone is aware of a Cattle Egret dye marking program in the Indian Ocean area. The image can be viewed at :- www.flickr.com/photos/royalnavalbirding The status of Cattle Egrets in BIOT is 'introduced resident' but there were records of vagrants before the introduction in the 1950's.
