Thanks for the information about possible places to look for this in the rainforest of the Atherton Tablelands.

I tried Mt Lewis near Julatten. They have been recorded there, but I only saw two Lesser Sooty Owls on the road (normally the bird you would go looking for!!). I also saw Long-nosed Bandicoot, and two small native rodents (anyone with an idea on what would be most likely?).

I stayed two nights at Lumholtz Lodge south of Atherton (about 5 to 10 minutes from The Crater). The first night there were two Southern Boobooks (lurida) very close to the house and I saw them. The second night they didn't call.

I was going to visit The Crater and look for the boobook along the road into the car park. But as I had seen it, I didn't give this a try.
