Birdline North Queensland

Published sightings for the week ending 6 Jul 2014.

Tue 1 Jul Little Eagle Palm Tree Caravan Park, Ingham
Little Eagle drifting low across park about 8am today brought alarm calls and harassing action from resident honeyeaters, Magpie Larks and especially three Masked Lapwings. Eagle circled twice before lazily heading off north toward Ingham. Caught me without camera.

Sat 21 Jun Pale White-eye (possible) Cooktown Botanic Gardens and Finch Bay
Bird seen on walk from botanic gardens towards Finch Bay. Calling from top of tree, noticeably different call from silvereye, very pale white belly and breast leading in to pale yellow chin and head. Back was greenish yellow (no grey at all on front or back). Bill slightly smaller than silvereye. I'm wondering if this bird could have been blown in to the mainland with recent weather events? Unfortunately I was unable to get a photo of the bird, and would love it if someone else could confirm it's presence in the area.
