Frank,
At Mt Hypipamee on the walk from the crater to the Barron River there are a
number of sites regularly used by a very dark bird. She will roost under
epiphytes on horizontal branches if it is wet in the early morning and these
are good areas to search during the day.

Subject: RFI 'Red Boobook'
I will have a few days in the Cairns / Atherton Tablelands area in late
July.
I would be interested in seeing this form of Southern Boobook. Are
there any sites where they might be more likely?
I haven't booked accommodation yet. One night in Cairns then three
more nights. Maybe two at Kingfisher Park and one at Lake Eacham area.
Thanks
