It would be good to get replies to David's question coming to the whole
list (thanks for doing that, Martin) because this is a route driven by a
lot of readers (both locals and visitors). I must confess to a vested
interest here: I'll be driving my mother's car back from Geelong to
Brisbane for her in a couple of weeks, and I'm already doing some research
on where to try to do a bit of birding en route. Places like Chiltern and
Capertee come to mind as I will be travelling via the Hume and Pacific
Highways this time (I've done both the Newell and New England Highways a
number of times).
I'll be relying on the tools of the modern birder: birding-aus, eBird,
Eremaea birdlines and several Facebook birding groups ... and of course a
couple of very useful birding apps!
