Date: Wednesday, March 26, 2014
Location: Goolwa Ponds Hassel Road
Freckled Duck (Stictonetta naevosa) (8) Birds were on the first large pond to
the right of the bird hide.
Yellow-billed Spoonbill (Platalea flavipes) (8) Birds were on the edge of the
first pond with White Ibis
Wood Sandpiper (Tringa glareola) (1) Single bird flew along edge of pond and
landed along side Black-fronted and Red Kneed Dotterel.

Location: The Barrage Goolwa
Grey Butcherbird (Cracticus torquatus) (1) Single bird was in SA water depot
just through the gate and then flew on to power lines.
Sacred Kingfisher (Todiramphus sanctus) (1) Bird was first seen in the Dune
area across from the second pull in area and then flew to a more favourable
viewing position on the side of the road.
Banded Stilt (Cladorhynchus leucocephalus) (1) Single bird in full plumage
feeding on mud flat half way to Beacon 19 along with large numbers of Avocet

Location: Point Sturt Road
White-bellied Sea-Eagle (Haliaeetus leucogaster) (1) A sub-adult bird soaring
over Point Sturt Road near 'Nanda' homestead,then engaging in aerial antics
with both an Australian Hobby and a Whistling Kite.
