Sun 16 Mar	Franklin's Gull Lake Barambah (Bjelke-Petersen Dam) Single bird seen about 70m from the shore off the picnic area. A good view through the scope - resting on the water alone. Dark patch behind the eye, streaked head, dark bill. Robyn Duff and Noel Renouf
	Eastern Yellow Wagtail Sandy Camp Wetlands Found by Colin Reid (thanks Colin!) , who asked me to post it here. Walk straight in past the 1st pond, and keep straight under the powerlines past the 2nd pond. Turn right along narrow peninsula between 2nd and 3rd pond and search the north side of the peninsula (3rd pond). Scope would be handy. Mat Gilfedder
	Eastern Yellow Wagtail Sandy Camp rd wetlands, Wynnum North, Brisbane. Third pond in, look on mud fringe on eastern side from 'peninsula' or on lily pads towards that side, difficult to pick up on lily pads. Looks like male in (possibly) non-breeding plumage race simillina - partial breastband. Colin Reid
Fri 14 Mar	Broad-billed Sandpiper Port of Brisbane Wader Roost - Fishermans Island Flock of around 100 Broad-billed Sandpipers at the Port of Brisbane wader roost (get key at visitors centre, open weekdays). Raja Stephenson, Kevin Bartram, Maria Valencia
	Oriental Cuckoo Moggill Conservation Park A latish adult about one kilometre into the park from the end of Hawkesbury Road Rod Gardner
Thu 13 Mar	Glossy Black Cockatoo Lamington National Park Highlight of two days of birding at Lamington Tops was prolonged observation of trio of trusting Glossy Black Cockatoos munching Casuarina nuts in the open woodlands 3.5km down Duck Creek Road. A gang of Red-browed Treecreepers was working the surrounding Eucalypts as well. Surprising (for me at least) was a Little Shrike-thrush in the transition country closer to the O'Reilly's road. While watching the Treecreepers I saw a single White-throated Needletail at high elevation heading North, seemingly against the wind. The iconic bird species (less Regent Bowerbird - they've apparently headed downhill for usual migration) were there to be seen, though both Albert's Lyrebird and Marbled Frogmouth took a fair bit of effort. I also saw a dingo at pre-dawn near O'Reilly's. John Weigel

Wed 12 Mar	Barred Cuckoo-Shrike Anstead Bushland Reserve Seen on Birds Queensland scheduled walk in fig tree on track down to old quarry at approx. 9.30 a.m. One bird feeding on figs. Rae Clark and other walkers
	Turquoise Parrot Canungra A surprise sighting of two Turquoise Parrots 1km below the Lama farm, nearly on the edge of Lamington NP on the road to O'Reilly's. John Weigel
Mon 10 Mar	Kelp Gull Torquay beach, Hervey Bay Unusual find today on Torquay Beach.. First sighting for me of this rare visitor Ross Scanlon
Sun 9 Mar	Musk Lorikeet Queen Mary Falls A number of Musk Lorikeets (10 sighted but probably more about) feeding in flowering eucalyptus along Condamine River Rd, The Falls. More were sighted on the Border Trail near Carney's Creek Rd feeding with Rainbow Lorikeets. Pete Taylor
	Black Bittern Sandy Camp Road Wetlands Reserve Bittern flew in around 0700 and stayed in view for approx 20mins Ross Monks
	Pale-vented Bush-hen Minnippi Parklands, Tingalpa Another good morning at Minnippi with the highlight being 2 Bush-hens showing well but briefly by the bridge over Bulimba creek at 9.15. Black-necked Stork still on lake. Stuart Pickering
	Pacific Golden Plover The Passage,Pelican Waters 19 plover on the central grassed area of The Passage real estate development ( opposite side of intersection from Whitehaven Way, Pelican Waters- just South of Caloundra,Sunshine Coast)- three are slightly smaller.Grey underwings in flight.No wingbars.Sighted at 0600 hrs Ross and Nat Sinclair
Sat 8 Mar	Kelp Gull Urangan Pier 3rd-4th year Kelp Gull sighted harassing terns etc. I had no scope but got good enough views to separate it from anything else. Ken Cross
	Powerful Owl Shailer Park, Logan Heard calling mid-evening from eucalypts in suburban backyard. Anne Burgess reporting for Ian Smith
	Red-tailed Black Cockatoo Gympie - Near Woodworks Museum About 40 birds flew over mid-afternoon. We see them regularly at this time of year, but this is the highest number for some time. They follow a SW-NE (or reverse) flight path. Anne Burgess
