We now have 8 butcher birds who come at least 5 times every day and call us
for their snacks.. We have the original pair who had a clutch of 3
hatchlings in Spring of 2012. One of those disappeared after a couple of
months. In Spring of 2013, they had another 4 babies. As we still had the
first 2 plus the next 2, this brought our numbers up to 8. It was the
sweetest thing to see the 2 younger ones heoping the parents to feed the
fledglings. Now they all feed themselves and my mince bill is forever
rising!!! As to their sex, 2 of my older ones havea spatteringof black
feathers on their necks while the other 2 have quite white necks. Does
this have anything to do with their sex?? Sandy
