Paul,
Stuart Dashper and I went down there late yesterday, and didn't see it. One
area we didn't manage to check out was the very mouth of the Skeleton Waterhole
Creek. Late in the evening, when the tide was low, there was several thousand
shorebirds here (-37.898681,144.801475). To get this spot, you could walk
directly south from the Tower (crossing the small foot bridge,
-37.913034,144.793517). I reckon, if you where going to look this would be the
place to do it.
Got very brief views of the unusual looking Golden Plover (possible American)
in a salt pan to the west of the tower (-37.908941,144.781197), and they've
been roosting in the scrubby salt pan just south of the road here.
Cheers,
Tim

Subject: [Birding-Aus] Oriental Plover at Altona, Victoria - any update???
Good afternoon,
Just wondering if anyone has an update on the initial posting on Eremaea Birds
of an Oriental Plover at Altona on the 27th(?).Has this bird been seen
since? Can't locate anything as of yet on the new ebird site. Finding
navigation through all the American based postings to be challenging.
Regards,
Paul
