Probably the most unusual juxtaposition of 2 species I have come across was a Greater Sand Plover and an Oriental Plover together at the Finke sewage ponds south of Alice Springs. I was living there at the time and the Greater Sand Plover turned up early October and stayed a few days. I have photographs of the 2 species side by side.
