Fri 22 Nov Lewin's Rail, Pale-vented Bush-hen Gold Creek Reservoir
At least one Lewin's Rail heard and seen in creek zone in general area below dam where reported on 17th (Rod Gardner); four types of call given. One or two bush-hens immediately called (loud braying) from drier dense cover in response to one set of calls by a Lewin's Rail.

Thu 21 Nov Square-tailed Kite Postmans Track Section, Lake Samsonvale
Bird viewed from Samsonvale Cemetery and nearby, several times during 8 am to 10 am, flying low over treetops about 1 km to the NNE, in one area of eucalypt forest, probably east of Postmans Track.

Superb Fruit-Dove Gwingana Ct, Beechmont
One female was seen and photographed feeding on an unidentified plant in our garden which is close to Lamington NP. This is the first time I have seen a Superb Fruit-Dove in this area in the 30 years I have been living and working here.

Spotless Crake (1) Right-hand site of viewing platform, foraging along the shore line, did not seen concerned with lots of people around.11:07 .

Sun 17 Nov Magpie Goose, Red-necked Avocet, White-throated Needletail Lindum West Wetlands
New site for us.Birding with 11 year old son Matthew Culican. Stopped on the way to sandy camp road wetlands reserve, well worth the visit at low tide. Highlights were large flock of Magpie geese(100+) Red-necked Avocets(2) and White-throated needletail(6) also 7 glossy ibis and dozens of read-kneed dotterels.

4 Brolgas and 5 Australian Bustards out on the plains, and at least 5 Grey Grasswrens in the lignum
