Hi all,
The locals were using the rifle range at Point Danger yesterday and the
viewing platform, which is behind the target, was closed from about 0900 to
1500. This is something people going down will need to keep in mind.
Joy Tansey and I watched from the cliff top to the west of the gannet
colony and well clear of any badly aimed bullets. We arrived at about 1400
and at about 1410 we thought we could see the Cape Gannet through our
scopes. Photos taken between 1411 and 1412 and cropped and enlarged on the
computer this morning confirm that the Cape Gannet was there. After 1412 we
can not see the Cape Gannet in photos so it either left or hunkered down.
It was again at the extreme left hand (east) edge of the colony.
We returned to the colony after the shooting finished at 1500 and stayed
until 1630 but there was no sign of the Cape Gannet.
