I thought the most interesting bit was "alleged sightings of endangered
night parrots in marshes at Mulga Downs"

Perhaps John young would have found it earlier if he had known about this
alternate habitat!

Like many I am well past any sense of rage at the antics of people such
Forrest and Reinhardt and their internecine squabbles over the purloined
commonwealth. However this morning's story in the SMH indicates that greed
may be pluming new depths. Apparently the basis of Forrest's intervention in
the theatrical farce that is the Reinhardt family is her opposition to him
developing a mine on one of her pastoral properties. In order to tie Forrest
up she claimed there were Night Parrots running around there and he had to
spend considerable time and tax deductions to disprove the claim. What a
shock to most of us. The Gina who would thought happily bulldoze the entire
land mass (and I suspect, any conventional sense of democracy) into a
Chinese ore carrier for delivery to an Indian nuptial, is actually a closet
greenie and all those hopefuls were wasting their time as the parrots were
all at her place.

Chris - an old commo forced to existentialism by historical circumstance.
