Foulness provides conservation, Ministry of Defence land in UK where I've spent many happy hours birding. http://www.shoeburyness.qinetiq.com/conservation/Pages/conservation.aspx A haven for many birds. Fortunately, the conservation significance of much of this kind of land is well recognised.
