Chris Watson has written a fine article about the Night Parrot discovery by
John Young, and raises some very important issues. It's long but something
we should all read.
I initially supported the idea of keeping the location of John's finding
secret, and not releasing the call. But I find Chris's arguments
convincing. Like most others, I applaud the astounding work John Young has
done so far, but I think we need to bring a broader range of expertise -
and opinions - to the table to plan for the Night Parrot's future, not for
our lifetimes, but for the next few generations.
