30 years ago lived in Coorparoo in sort of middle suburban Brisbane for 4 years. Each summer one Intermediate Egret would occupy the large grassy verge of the neighbouring property daily for weeks and have a very successful life, eating skinks. I do not know if it was the same bird but there was only ever one and the behaviour was consistent. I don't know where it roosted.
