Westland Petrel (3), Soft-plumaged Petrel (1)
Eaglehawk Pelagic, Tasmania
Highlights from today's pelagic: three Westland Petrels that joined the boat at our first stop and stayed most of the day, often sitting together in the slick, and a Soft-plumaged Petrel that made several close passes.

Estimated 40-45 birds, positively counted 39 birds perched, but there were a couple of birds aerial at the time of count. Birds are unfortunately located in an area with strictly no access to the public

Moorina Beach - Cape Queen Elizabeth walk, Bruny Island, Tasmania
Group of seven feeding at water's edge at northern end of beach.
Photo not so clear as zoomed in on iphone. First sighting for both us of so very exciting. [Ed note: as many as 9 have been seen feeding near The Neck. Thanks Rob Hamilton. TD]
