Sun 5 May Black Kite Mareeba Airport
Conservative estimate of 1000+ Black Kites over Mareeba Airport. I have seen large gatherings of these birds at Mareeba Tip but never more than about 400.

Thu 25 Apr Budgerigar At Rocky St. George Creek, south of Palmer River Roadhouse.
A small flock (10-12) flew eastwards across the Mulligan Highway just north of the bridge. Mid morning, conditions clear. coincides with many other records in eastern Queensland. Possibly first for region.

Sun 7 Apr Budgerigar Melopsittacus undulatus Gunnawarra Road at 18 04 53S 145 12 06E, Glen Harding Station
Flock of about 30 budgerigars flew accross the road in a westerly direction. Historical sightings (1967-1972) have been recoded at 40 Mile Scrub about 50km north-west of this location.
