Black Kite
Mareeba Airport
Conservative estimate of 1000+ Black Kites over Mareeba Airport. I have seen large gatherings of these birds at Mareeba Tip but never more than about 400.

Budgerigar
At Rocky St. George Creek, south of Palmer River Roadhouse.
A small flock (10-12) flew eastwards across the Mulligan Highway just north of the bridge. Mid morning, conditions clear. coincides with many other records in eastern Queensland. Possibly first for region.

Budgerigar Melopsittacus undulatus
Gunnawarra Road at 18 04 53S 145 12 06E, Glen Harding Station
Flock of about 30 budgerigars flew accross the road in a westerly direction. Historical sightings (1967-1972) have been recoded at 40 Mile Scrub about 50km north-west of this location.
