A fascinating find Chris. Where does this bird normally migrate to
and from? It is certainly interesting that it has flown so far into
Australia ...

More big news in the Red Centre. This may sound ridiculous, but a
friend's
wife has found a first for the Australian mainland list while
hanging out
the laundry, in their suburban backyard in Alice Springs.
Any other wagtail might be tricky but the markings on this bird and
the
side to side tail motion make the ID fairly straightforward. It has
been
present for at least two mornings now.
