Hi Jenny,
They crop up in all sorts of places - often farmland, and open woodlands.  The 
spots you mentioned should be good, and you could also try along the access 
road to Anthony's beach, between Stanley and Smithton.  Just north of Arthur 
River Township, heading west into the heath should also be good for them, and 
also possibly for Southern Emu-wren, Tawny-croned Honeyeater, etc.  We have 
found Dempster's Lookout, along the South Arthur Forest Drive reasonably 
reliable for Ground PArrot, and Strahan Airfield is also good for Ground 
Parrot, Emu-wren, Honeyeater and Blue-winged Parrot.
