Latham Snipe site

Subject: Latham Snipe site

I'm currently birding in Port Fairy, western Victoria. Today I came across a
wetland near the local school that has a very significant Latham Snipe
population. A local resident told me that his group has counted more than 100
individuals that spend their day here so as a site this really is important.
unfortunately a land developer has purchased some of the land and already he
has drained parts of the wetland and regularly mows the fringing grassland
severely. Does anyone know of this site or of the background to this developer
whose name is Bock? I'd like some advice before wading in to the fight ( no pun
intended).

Regards,

Gary Oliver
