Hi everyone, Here is the comment of my friend Jean-Yves Frémont, a French Gull expert, about the Broome bird. I want to point out that his comments are based on photos posted at http://www.pbase.com/wildlifeimages/lesser_black_backed_gull “I am thinking about a Lesser black-backed Gull Larus fuscus fuscus. (Goéland de la Baltique): slender build, rather short legs. R1 Moulting fits well with this species, the blackish remiges band as well. The upperpart coloration also fits well, taking into account plumage wearing (slightly paler at this time of the year). Heuglini would have paler upperparts and would be bulkier.” Have a great week-end! Cheers, Vivien =============================== To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send the message: unsubscribe (in the body of the message, with no Subject line) to: http://birding-aus.org =============================== |
