I have seen the (admittedly captive) Emus at the Kalkari Centre in
Ku-Ring-Gai NP (N Sydney) wallowing in the small pond at the far point on
the track from the visitor centre on a very hot day a number of years ago
(could have been 1996). My parents were visiting at the time - we reckoned
it was a cooling off strategy.
