Wed 10 Oct Malleefowl Gnowangerrup-Jerramungup Road, approx 60Km east of Jerramungup, Western Australia
I was heading west from Esperance to Albany last Thursday and just after the sun had gone down, approximately 40-80Km (sorry can't be more precise) east of Jerramungup a spotted a Malleefowl to my right on the side of the road- it quickly disappeared into the scrub. I did stop and reverse but did not manage to see it again. I didn't understand their conservation status in WA until checking BirdLife website today and thought I'd better report it. Sorry, no photo.
