Masked Woodswallow, Nankeen Night Heron
Callum Brae Nature Reserve
Masked Woodswallow (100) A large flock heard over head. Birds were distant but uniformly dull coloured underparts rules out White-browed Woodswallow.
Also Nankeen Night Heron (1) My first sighting of this species at Callum Brae. Bird was observed far from any of the farm dams near the Wedge-tailed Eagle's nest. Interestingly a single bird was observed at the site by Brendan Sheean at a similar time of the year in 2011 (on 30 Oct 2011).

Rainbow Bee-eater

During my constitutional walk this afternoon over the Mt Ainslie/Majura ridge heard lots of Bee-eaters up very high. Couldn't see them so I'm not sure which direction they were heading. Lots of good woodland birds including some very vocal Jacky Winters
