Unusual albatross

Hello,

During a sea watching session this afternoon at Maroubra, a wandering 
type albatross was seen fairly close in.  The bird had a strong brown 
band across its breast, and the upperwing appeared brownish in colour.  
Any ideas on what this bird might have been?
