Does AFL = Aviary Football League?

Yes Carl,
There are 5 birds at the top of the AFL ladder - swans, hawks, crows,
magpies and eagles. In fact they are the only birds in the whole 18 team
competition.
Reminds me of parliament back in the 80's - a hawke, peacock and many
galahs....
